Laurel Burch Kitties

I wanted students to create cats in the style of one of my favorite animal artists Laurel Burch…..colorful and full of fun lines and designs.
We looked at many examples of her fabulous feline creations and they were excited to create their own. After demonstrating several ways to draw a cat, they drew their own and added all sorts of neat features. Even though oil pastels are very messy, the kids loved using them to create vibrant colored cats. We will be sharing our colorful finished products very soon!

Whooooo - is excited to paint?

Our painting art club has been studying owls & the different ways artists paint these adorable creatures. We are using canvas board, which we first sketch our wise friends & then slllooowwwllyyy adding layers of tempera paint: starting with the lightest colors first. Stay tunes for finishes products.

Zentangles!

Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being.
